LAND TRAINING, ERG WORKOUTS, and fitness Therapy

Want more of a healthy lifestyle?

If you want to expand your fitness activities and continue a healthy, active lifestyle, come to our land training workouts on Saturday, led by a member of our Fitness Staff. Workouts are a lot easier and fun when you have a group to help push through. All the things we do here will help build you up to be the best paddler you can be.

We also hold erg workouts once a week. In addition to extra training on our modified paddling erg, you will run through a variety of workouts ranging from HIIT (high intensity interval training) to strength and conditioning to yoga. These are designed to allow everyone to get a good workout in a positive and encouraging environment.

We have teamed up with Fitness Therapy to further expand our exposure to health and fitness to help everyone realize their goals! Fitness Therapy is a gym located in Daly City and offers innovative group training classes, personal training, and nutrition advice. They are offering us a private group training class every Sunday morning. The classes are led by certified fitness professionals and utilize a variety of equipment suitable for all fitness levels.

Gear Up

Don't have a paddle or PFD yet? Don't worry, they will be provided at the lake.

The proper attire to wear to a water practice would be anything that doesn't absorb too much water such as: athletic shorts, swim trunks or nylon pants, dry-weave tees, flip-flops, and watersocks or sports sandals. On those incredibly bright days, a cap, visor, or sunglasses would help. If you plan on attending land training, bring a pair of sports shoes.

Other items to bring are sunscreen to prevent burns, water to keep hydrated, a towel to dry off afterwards, and a change of clothes if you don't want to be soggy when getting lunch or dinner.

Post-Practice Meal

Can’t get enough of us on the water? After practice we usually grab a meal together. There is no better time to get to know your fellow paddlers than over a delicious meal. The lake is perfectly located, close to many restaurants nearby such as The Noodle House, Pieology, and Kevin’s Noodle House.
